Hi Lisa,

You have quite a number of challenges. I can understand why you are feeling so bad. Yes, I believe I can help you. First I recommend you read a couple of articles I wrote about weight loss plateaus. I believe these articles will give you a better understanding of what you might do to help your situation.

<a href="http://www.womenandweight.com/weight-management/weight-loss/weight-loss-plateau/" rel="nofollow">Overcoming a Weight Loss Plateau: Part 1</a> (The first article has a link to part 2.)

Let me know your thoughts after reading these articles. Then we can take a look at some of the other struggles you are facing.

Hope you write back,

Lori

Hello,
I am a 50 year old woman. I am 5 foot 4 inches and weigh 213 pounds. I gained about 100 pounds after my father died and have been trying to get it off every since. I have actually had some success: I was around 250 pounds and managed to lose this weight using a variety of diets including a low carb diet, a small and frequent meal diet, and using herbalife shakes. I actually had lost down to 190 pounds at one point, but have managed to put 23 pounds back on since I quit smoking 4 months ago. *sigh!
Here are my problems:
1. I seem to be stuck at this weight....have been for almost a year
2. With perimenopause approaching, I am putting on belly fat that is stubborn.
3. My weight is affecting my health. I am short of breath too easily.
4. I seem to be ravenous all the time. *drat!
5. I work as a home health nurse and have to eat on the road most of the time
6. I am disgusted, frustrated, ashamed, broken hearted and stumped about where to go from here.

Can you help?
