You have a difficult situation. You clearly have an enormous amount of responsibility as a single mother and as a housekeeper in a job that keeps you on the move. I suspect you have little to no time for yourself to get enough sleep or rest otherwise and time to relax.

Yes, you do need to see a doctor and the sooner the better. In the meantime there are a couple things you can do.

1. Take note of all the different sources of stress in your life. Brainstorm any possible ways you can reduce that stress. Help from family or friends? Can you partner with other single mothers to give one another more breaks? Are your children doing what they can to help the family situation (without being overstressed also)?

You need to get more rest/sleep and have time for fun. Sustained stress can cause sustained high levels of cortisol production in your body as I&#039;m sure you already know. High cortisol levels over time can be very damaging.

2. Eat a healthy diet with an emphasis on lean protein foods, lots of non-starchy vegetables, some fruit, whole grains, and low fat dairy (if you can eat dairy foods). Avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates as much as possible.

I have a variety of low calorie sample menus on my website some with fish. Can I assume that you do not consume any dairy from what you shared? Please let me know and I can direct you to the appropriate sample menus. 

I hope to provide more sample menus in the future that fit the semi-vegetarian or flexitarian theme. Many of my menus include dairy products such as nonfat milk but you could choose to substitute non-dairy choices if you prefer.
