Renovations at the Women and Weight Website

For those of you who are regulars, you may be wondering about the change in the look and navigation of my site. To make a long story short, I am in the middle of a website update that did not go as planned! I decided it was time to update my version of Wordpress (the blogging software I use) and thought I could do the work myself…Big mistake!

This all started a little over a week ago. I had intended to practice on another website, a new one of mine, so new in fact that I felt I couldn’t make it any worse. However, in the process of uploading the latest version of the program to the correct folder in my directory, I inadvertently sent the information to my Women and Weight Website folder and overwrote all that was there. Oops!

At first, I thought I might have lost the entire site. Fortunately, a kind soul from the Wordpress forum (a moderator) helped me get something back up and running! Next I needed to install my new theme (a new look and feel to the website design).

Unfortunately, the theme I had wanted to use for the new site has been giving me problems. For the time being, I am sticking with a very simple version. Please bear with me while I struggle to find a solution. Hopefully it will get back to a more familiar and user friendly form in the next few weeks!

Working on the website would be enough, but this past week I had also scheduled to have a garage sale on Friday and Saturday. Honestly, if you so much as hear me mention the word garage sale in the future, please remind me just how much I dislike the whole process! I have to laugh because my memory can be very short. After the sale, when I returned the card tables I had borrowed from a neighbor, she asked how it went. I said O.K. but that I was NEVER going to have another sale! She looked at me and with a little smile and said “Haven’t you said that before?” Ouch!

So what does all this have to do with weight management? I guess I had a lot of time during the garage sale hours to think about what I would be writing next. I’ve had quite a number of questions about how to choose low calorie meals at ethnic restaurants. So be looking for some new posts over the next few months about the choices at Italian, Mexican, Chinese restaurants and more.

Thanks for your patience.

Oh yes, I will be doing quite a bit of traveling with my husband for the next ten days. Finding healthy, low calorie food when traveling, especially in airports and on planes can be a real challenge. Let me know if you have any interest in my thoughts on that topic.

Have a great week!
